6th Feb Book Illustration
Clive's suggestion
Following on from last week ink pen session, consider the examples from illustrated books post war where colour was absent and the style and telling the story with art was important.
13th Feb Stone structure in perspective. Mac's idea to focus on stone as a material and make use of perspective. Could be a harbour wall scene, a castle, moorland cottages and walls etc. It has been suggested that this session could also be from one's own imagination and not a pastiche from a photo or picture already captured by someone. What a good idea.
20th Feb Limited Palette Portrait
Ann's suggestion. Could be your chance to use oils in this session which is to focus on a limited palette, perhaps only three or four colours plus white and black to offer the full range of tones from darkest dark through all the coloured shades of grey to white. The portrait itself is secondary, the use of paint to give an effective range of contrasts and variations is what you are after.
Carry over next week if you wish.
