Winter Programme 2015 Updated 8th December 2015
15th Sept Post Artbreak session talking about what we want to do this term followed by a session on leaves found in the garden - drawing and painting.
22nd Sept Water and Reflections Bring examples of how artists have shown wet surfaces and water in two or three contrasting ways from droplets, to puddles, lakes, rivers and the sea. Use any medium of your choice to be inspired by these different approaches.
29th Sept Textures, collage and acrylics Bring your work from last week as well as new paper or support, acrylics, collage material of any sort, scissors, glue. For more details see the email sent on the 24th. Sept.
6th Oct A free session to continue from previous weeks or if you wish, work up or re-invent a piece of art you did during the Summer by starting afresh using any medium or different approach you wish - use the opportunity that being in the pavilion offers in contrast to the outdoor / travelling location.
13th October Split session, Visit the studio of John Pumfrey to see his exhibition then return to the pavilion for a session based on portraits using each other as a model and using any media of your choice.
20th October Clothed model we will have a model wearing a dramatic costume. Bring easels, large format, charcoal and coloured medium. Several quick sketches followed by a long one. Cushions and drapes might be good if you have them.
27th October Breathing space to continue and complete work from the previous session
3rd November Seed Heads Bring dried seed heads, structural dried plant stems etc and something to stand them in to make still life subjects. Consider using large paper and dramatic media and approach e.g inks, charcoal, or do your own thing.
10th November Big Skies A session looking at how skies have been captured by different artists - please bring examples and be ready to have a go at something out of your comfort zone.
17th November The Fauvists and Colour with and introduction by Roger
24th November Breathing space to continue and complete work from the previous sessions
1st December Loosen up - Loose approach to painting by Paddy Please bring easels and large format and acrylics if possible. Big brushes and palette knives will be useful plus a landscape scene to work from .
8th December Model session A clothed model has been arranged for this morning. An opportunity for figure drawing and painting using any variety of medium you wish. Please bring easels if you have them.
15th December Christmas beanfeast and merrymaking
Bring something to work on in the first half before we stop for the feast. Please remember to bring your food contribution.
Term has now ended see you all in the New Year
Future Paper mosaics as a medium using a coloured image as a guide, create a mosaic work from a collection of painted paper cut into mosaic tiles. Examples will be provided. this session is looking for a "sponsor."
