16th Sept Post Artbreak review - the good the bad and the brilliant - please bring your work to show and tell once more. Also the main session is free if you would like to experiment with medium or style on anything you have done or were not able to do on the Artbreak.
23rd Sept Work up or re-invent a piece of art you did on Artbreak or during the Summer by starting afresh using any medium or different approach you wish - use the opportunity that being in the pavilion offers in contrast to the outdoor / travelling location.
30th Sept Face to Face This session is based on portraits using each other as a model and using any media of your choice, This is an opportunity to let go and do what you want e.g scribble drawing with biro, tonal with charcoal, practising accuracy, practising looking, short lines, wild marks, colour, collage - in fact anything. You may think it best not to have your work flat on the table nor on small paper. Explain your work in the crit.
7th October Change of plan, there will be no model this week. It will be a free session to do as you wish or you may join in a drawing session with the following theme: Bring one or all of the following objects to draw ... an interesting shoe, piece of cloth, a bag. You might focus on a) composition b) tonal value c) accuracy or interpretation d) experimenting with a different medium
14th October Male Model for portraiture Malcolm Lewis
Please bring easels as tables will be unsuitable for this subject. Any medium of your choice.
21st October Chinese Brush Painting Jean Turton to give us Chinese Brush painting. Brushes, inks and paper will be provided if necessary but do bring your own if you have it. Otherwise, look at Chinese art work and think about what you might like to achieve. Materials such as paper, brushes etc will be an additional charge.
28th October Abstraction with Mirrors Using two small mirrors and some colourful objects for your own set up create an abstract of the overlapping reflected images and the way the mirrors cut across the coloured objects. Could be in collage as a more dynamic piece of work.
4th November Still life with an oriental theme. Bring any suitable oriental objects to place on a central still life
11th November Session using the imagination, led by John. Bring A3 paper, with board or suitable support, glue, scissors, collage material and anything else you think you might need.
18th November Continuation in order to finish the work started last week with imagination and collage - or opportunity to finish work started in previous sessions.
23rd November The Urban Sketcher with Mac. Examples of the different approaches to sketching in urban situations with an emphasis on reducing the amount of kit necessary for a successful result. Bring the limited amount of kit you would use in sketching in a city. Small sketch book about 8 x 6 ins, pencils pens small watercolour kit. Three photos or magazine pages of different cityscapes including people preferably.
2nd December Fast and Loose in watercolour with Richard Cave
A look at spontaneity in sketching with watercolour and success with shadows.
9th December to be arranged
16th December Christmas beanfeast and merrymaking
We will talk about what to bring beforehand

Date to be arranged Printing Techniques and use of printed work. A session showing some interesting and unusual things which can be done with printed work. A tutor will be arranged for this session

Date to be arranged Colourist Landscape One of our own members will show how she approaches her crazy bold landscapes in acrylic and inspire us all in the process.
Date to be arranged Fall out session - After a visit to the University of Reading Art Department later this year I hope to be able to provide a session which will stretch the imagination and look at aspects of art we are not normally used to seeing. by Clive
