20th Jan. Careful Drawing
This topic needs expanding, thinking of pencil and shading, possibly portrait?       What resource do we want and what end result?     Maybe look at J S Sargent's beautiful pencil portraits for shading from blackest black to almost white paper.

OR Maybe
Pencil, pen or similar on cartridge paper. Using a mirror and yourself as the model, make three detailed drawings of only the area around your two eyes and the nose, concentrating on accuracy and tone. No other parts of the face are needed.

Suggestion from Helen

27th Jan 2026    Perspectives
suggested Roger

1)  Draw roughly on a newspaper,  a  chair viewed facing one of its corners, not head on, using two point perspective, showing your eye level and guide lines.
2)  Rest of session do a building complex or something else appropriate preferably with steps and part of the scene below eye level using two point perspective.

Even better, have one of the points of perspective within the drawing and not both on the edge of the paper.

More careful drawing

Choose your own subject for a very careful drawing in pencil....BUT....

1) Challenge yourself, avoid the usual things you do or know you can draw.  Find something or a collection of things which you think would be difficult to draw accurately.
2) bring out a wide variety of marks and tones
3) points deducted for pretty pictures!!
4) make it a drawing that one can keep looking and looking at it with interest.

Ignore the  Image  please, think of something yourself
