Updated 12th July 2016 |

5th April NEW TERM STARTS AT THE PAVILION Bring sketches or inspiration from your Easter break and ideas for outdoor sessions for the coming season.
12th April Still life from several different viewpoints Think about
Picasso and Braque - the way they looked at objects from different
positions and created a work combining facets which are not normally
seen at the same time.
19th April Portrait with a cubist flavour
Following on from where we left off last week having looked at a still life
from different angles and some delving into cubism - we will have a model
to draw with a similar treatment. Easels would be good.
26th April Early Summer Feast More details to follow but at Helen's
House. Please make sure you know what you are bringing. 12 o' clock ish
3rd May Free Session to do what you want.
10th May Oil painting with Clive. at the pavilion. Bring oil paints if you have them.THE OUTDOOR SESSION IS POSTPONED
17th May Outdoors at Goring Heath Almshouses arranged by Helen http://www.goringheathalmshouses.co.uk
On Saturday 21st, 10 am -12pm, they are having their annual plant sale. They will also have one of their units open for viewing and they have suggested we might like to display any paintings or sketches we've done there, including ones from last year. Not necessarily for sale, though that would be an option.
24th May Outdoors In Henley Choose a Landmark building and draw, paint or sketch a detailed study in isolation. There are many fascinating buildings once you look above the street level e.g. look at the roof above Maison Blanc from across the road. It could be interesting to select quirky rather than pretty. Meet near the Town Hall.
31st May (Ann) Phyllis Court, Session by the water, see image below. Reflections in water, puddles, pond or river. Peering into the depths of water by your feet - a pool, a river edge, a puddle, a stream and make what you will of the detritus and plant life on and under the surface. Cancelled due to bad weather.
7th June (Robbie) Greys Court. Remember your NT card and car park sticker if you have one.
14th June (Edward) Remenham church/village/riverside, with views of Temple Island. Park near the church. Cancelled due to bad weather. Pavilion instead.
21st June River & Rowing Museum, Henley. Parking is free so long as we patronise the cafe, shop or museum and ask for an exit token. This venue should work for us in wet weather too, as there will be things, scenes, people we can draw indoors.
28th June Ruined chapel at Bix Bottom. Follow the road through Middle Assendon towards Bix Bottom and Warburg Nature Reserve (but turn round if you've gone that far). Park on the verge.
5th July Edward's garden, Trinity Church and environs. Ashton House, Church Street, Henley. RG9 1SE
12th July (Paddy) The Beeches Beautiful house and garden. Details to follow.
19th July (Helen) White Acres Outside if fine, inside if not.
Term ends when we run out of ideas or people.
Some ideas for Summer outside days while trying to avoid village greens and the pretty:
Disappearing Henley part of Henley or environs which is changing forever or about to - record either what is happening or what has happened. e.g The Old Police Station: Casualty at Townlands
Tortured Roots Study the twisted inter woven roots of massive trees in a hedgerow, with specimen leaves and snail shells or the like - a bit like Durer
Recession A huge receding landscape with far horizons, near ground, middle ground, far away and use all the tricks of blues, fading tonal contrast, diminishing detail, etc to achieve recession in the scene.
